BREAKING: Tension in Abuja as Gunshots Fire Around Int'l Conference Centre

According to TVC News, sporadic gunshots were fired around the International Conference Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to TVC News, sporadic gunshots were fired around the International Conference Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.

To avoid being hit by a stray bullet, police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

On Wednesday, November 29, Sahara Reporters reported that a gunshot rocked the old parade ground in the Federal Capital Territory, which was the earlier venue for the NANS' convention, citing a video it obtained.

NANS is the umbrella body of Nigerian tertiary institution students, and the convention was meant to produce a new set of national leaders for the body.

Citing a source, the medium said some students sustained injury during the attacks. It added that the attackers, who came with guns and machetes, were thugs allegedly loyal to a candidate who was the anointed candidate of President Bola Tinubu's son, Seyi.

According to the report, the thugs were led by one Sunday Asefon, a Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Students Engagements.

Emonefe graduated 20 years ago from the College of Education in Warri, Delta state but has been parading himself as the anointed candidate of the president's son, Seyi Tinubu.

An eyewitness account revealed that he could not ascertain if the guns were from the police or the fighting union members.

It was learnt that the fracas was between the national chairman of the union, Tajudeen Baruwa and Badru Agbede's supporters.
