Don't expect Sophia Bush to be talking about her ex-husband and One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray anymore. The actress opened up about why she's "not allowed to" on Smallville alum Michael Rosenbaum's podcast Inside of You.
"Oh, I'm not going to talk about him," she told the host. "I'm not allowed to because I've tried to poke fun at being a dumb kid and whenever I've done that, it gets twisted into I'm talking shit about somebody who I don't even know anymore, who's clearly a grown-up."
"I think you have to laugh at who you used to be," she added. "But when people ask me about history that involves someone else … it's not worth my time. It's not a place where I harbor ill will or anything."
Rosenbaum added that it probably doesn't ever "come out right," when she does talk about him, to which Bush replied, "It never does! And I've tried to like, you know, do the thing where when I get stuck live on the air — which has happened to me twice — getting asked about it where I give a little, like jazz hands quip and move on. It just doesn't work, so I'm not going to."
Bush added that at the time, when the two married, she was a mere 21-years-old. "I was a very naïve 21-year-old kid," she said. "And that's all there is to it."
She continued, "I think lots of people do stupid shit before their prefrontal cortexes are fully formed and they're not until they're 26. So you do the math on my timeline. I literally didn't have a whole brain."
The two wed in April 2005 but parted ways five months after the wedding. We previously reported that Bush asked for an annulment on the grounds of "fraud."
But Bush didn't give up on the institution of marriage — just this week, the actress got engaged to boyfriend Grant Hughes in Lake Como, Italy, in "the most incredible, moving surprise of my life."
"So it turns out that being your favorite person's favorite person is the actual best feeling on planet Earth," she captioned her stunning Instagram post, which showed Hughes down on one knee as the two sailed around the lake in a small boat.
"My heart. It bursts," she wrote.
